Froggy Mayhem is a project that was made in Unity for the purpose of testing player choice in relation to strategy games. For this project, we were 4 people in total - 2 programmers and 2 designers. We made the entire project in the short span of 2 months and while it is not polished for release, it has a ton of features such as:
- A custom Hexagon Editor for placing entities and tiles.
- Stats with modifiers
- Items that change stats
- Weapons
- Advanced AI for enemies
- Turn-based system
Team composition:
• Laura – Primary tasks: designing, implementing, testing and iterating the bat- tlemaps by using the dev tools made by Thomas. – Secondary tasks: conducting in-house testing and in-progress external playtesting of the prototype, developing the testing protocol to gather our research’s data and conducting the testing to gather said data.
• Małgorzata – Primary tasks: designing the system, world, and combat structure of the game. Design of hero and enemy units along with their abilities and statistics. Play-testing the game and implementing balancing changes. – Secondary tasks: UX and UI design. Sound composition. Environmental art.
• Thomas – Primary tasks: Programming, Shipping Builds, GUI, Sound and Music Engineer – Secondary tasks: Hexagon Grid, Hexagon Editor, Asset License-holder, Animations, Skills, Items, User Interface and GUI, Turn Based System, World, and Scene System
• Thor – Primary tasks: Programming, AI Behavior, Controllers and Mechanics Components – Secondary tasks: Hexagon Mathematical Tools and Algorithms, Skills, Passives, Event Logging, Unit Stats, Path Finding, and Implementation of Unit Variants
